Understand cookies, browser storage, and your privacy choices on Calcavio.

This Cookie Policy explains how Calcavio ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on calcavio.com. It covers browser storage, analytics, advertising, and the choices available to you.

Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains our broader information practices and your privacy rights.

1. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. They can help a website remember a choice, recognize a browser, measure visits, or support advertising.

Calcavio also uses browser technologies that are not cookies:

  • Local storage: keeps information on your device between visits, such as preferences or saved calculator results.
  • Session storage: holds information for a browsing session, usually until the relevant tab or window closes.
  • Browser caches and service workers: store website resources to support faster loading and available offline features.

Analytics and advertising services may also use tags, scripts, or similar identifiers. Rules about cookies can apply to other ways of storing or accessing information on your device, not just text files called cookies.

2. Your calculator inputs and saved results

Calcavio's website calculators perform their calculations in your browser. The financial values you enter for those calculations are not sent to our servers to perform the math.

Some features keep inputs, preferences, or saved results in local browser storage so you can return to them later. Closing a tab does not necessarily delete information saved this way.

Some tools download reference information, such as exchange rates or market rates. Fetching that information is separate from sending your financial inputs for calculation.

This local-calculation approach does not mean that visiting Calcavio creates no network traffic. Hosting, analytics, advertising, and other website services may receive technical information about your visit. Information you deliberately submit through a contact form, email, or an external AI service is also separate from ordinary calculator inputs.

If you share your device, consider clearing saved results and site data after use.

3. Why cookies and browser storage are used

The categories below explain the purposes for which cookies and similar technologies may be used. The technologies present on a particular visit depend on the features you use, your choices, your browser, and the services enabled on the Site.

Strictly necessary technologies

These support functions essential to providing a service you request, such as maintaining security or recording your cookie choices. They are not used for behavioral advertising.

A technology is not strictly necessary merely because it is useful to us. Where a legal exemption applies, necessary storage may operate without cookie consent.

Preferences and functionality

These remember optional choices or support features you request, such as your display theme, saved results, or returning to a calculation.

Optional convenience features are not automatically classified as strictly necessary. Whether consent is needed depends on the purpose, the feature you request, and applicable law.

Analytics

Analytics helps us understand which pages people visit, how the Site performs, and where improvements are needed. Our Privacy Policy identifies Google Analytics as an example of an analytics service used for this purpose.

Depending on the configuration, analytics may process browser identifiers, device and browser details, page addresses, referral information, timestamps, and IP-related information. Reports may be aggregated, but that does not mean all underlying information is anonymous.

Advertising and measurement

Advertising technologies support displaying ads, measuring performance, limiting repeated ads, and detecting invalid traffic. Where permitted and subject to your choices, they may also support personalized advertising.

Advertising supports Calcavio's free tools. It does not change the formulas or results of our calculators.

4. First-party and third-party technologies

First-party cookies are set under the website domain you visit. Third-party cookies are set under another domain, such as an advertising provider's domain. Third-party services can also operate through scripts without setting a traditional third-party cookie.

Our Privacy Policy describes Google AdSense and analytics services. When these services operate, their providers may receive information directly from your browser and process it under their own policies.

A provider's presence on Calcavio does not mean that every technology it offers is active on every page or for every visitor. Your consent choices and browser restrictions can affect what operates.

5. Google AdSense and personalized advertising

Calcavio uses Google AdSense to support advertising on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to Calcavio or other websites.

Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this Site and other sites across the Internet, subject to applicable consent requirements and your advertising choices.

You can manage Google's personalized advertising settings through My Ad Center. You can also learn about Google's advertising technologies and how Google uses information from partner sites.

Turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements or stop every advertising-related use of storage. Google explains that non-personalized ads may still use cookies for purposes such as frequency capping and aggregated reporting. Consent remains necessary where the law requires it.

Participating advertising providers may offer additional choices through DAA WebChoices or Your Online Choices. These tools cover participating providers, not every advertiser or every form of data collection.

Where consent is legally required, non-essential cookies and similar technologies should operate only after you have made an affirmative choice. Visiting a page, scrolling, or continuing to browse is not, by itself, consent.

Where the Site presents a consent message, use its controls to accept, reject, or customize optional purposes. You can revisit your choices through the Site's cookie or privacy settings where those controls are provided.

If you cannot find or reopen the controls, contact us using the details below. Browser blocking tools provide an additional option, but they do not replace consent controls that the Site is legally required to provide.

Withdrawing consent changes future consent-based activity. It does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, and it may not remove cookies already stored. You can separately delete existing cookies and site data through your browser.

Choices are generally specific to a browser or device. You may need to repeat them after clearing storage, switching browsers, or using another device.

Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Google requires a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework when serving personalized ads to visitors in these regions.

The consent message, where presented, provides the applicable purposes and vendor choices. Consent requirements also apply to non-personalized advertising storage where required by law; selecting non-personalized ads is not a blanket exemption.

7. Managing cookies and storage in your browser

Most browsers let you inspect, block, or delete cookies and other site data. Look under settings such as Privacy, Cookies, Site Data, or Site Permissions. The exact steps vary by browser and device.

You can usually:

  • Delete Calcavio's cookies and stored site data.
  • Block some or all cookies, including third-party cookies.
  • Review storage and permissions for individual websites.
  • Clear cached website resources and locally saved information.

Deleting cookies may not also delete local storage or offline caches. Check the browser's full site-data options if you want to remove those items too.

Blocking or clearing storage may reset your theme, erase locally saved calculator results, remove offline resources, or cause a consent message to appear again. Save anything you want to keep before clearing it.

Browser notification permissions are managed separately through site-permission settings. Clearing cookies alone may not revoke permission to send notifications.

8. Google Analytics choices

In addition to applicable Site consent controls and browser settings, Google provides a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for supported browsers.

The add-on is specific to the Google Analytics functionality it covers. It does not block all analytics services, all advertising, or ordinary website server requests.

9. How long information remains

Session cookies generally expire when a browsing session ends, although browser restoration features can affect this. Persistent cookies remain until their configured expiry, unless deleted earlier.

Local storage does not necessarily have an automatic expiry. Information may remain until you delete it, the Site removes it, or your browser clears it. Cached resources have separate lifecycles.

There is no single retention period for every technology. Cookie lifetimes and providers' retention of information already collected are separate matters. See the relevant provider's disclosures and our Privacy Policy for more information.

10. California and other privacy choices

Where applicable law gives you a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or targeted advertising, you may exercise that right through the relevant privacy controls or by contacting us.

Advertising-related disclosures can qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under some laws even when no money changes hands. Our Privacy Policy explains this distinction and the rights that may apply.

As described in that policy, we honor Global Privacy Control signals where legally required. Global Privacy Control is distinct from a browser's older Do Not Track setting. Our Privacy Policy states that we do not respond directly to Do Not Track signals.

11. Other websites and services

This policy covers Calcavio, not external websites reached through links or advertisements. External AI assistants and other third-party services have their own privacy and storage practices. Review their policies before submitting personal or financial information.

We may update this policy when our technologies, service providers, or legal obligations change. The Last updated date shows when this version was revised.

Where a change requires fresh consent, we will request it through the appropriate consent mechanism. Publishing a revised policy does not, on its own, give us consent for new non-essential purposes.

13. Contact us

For cookie questions or privacy requests, use our Contact page.

Please describe your question and, if relevant, the page, browser, and device involved. Do not include passwords, account numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

For additional context, see our About page, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Disclaimer, and Editorial Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Does Calcavio use cookies?+
Yes. Calcavio’s published policies describe cookies and similar technologies for website functions, analytics, and advertising, including Google AdSense. The technologies that operate during your visit depend on the services enabled, your browser settings, applicable consent requirements, and your choices. Local browser storage is also used for certain preferences and saved results.
Does Calcavio store the financial numbers I enter?+
Calcavio’s website calculators perform calculations in your browser rather than sending your financial inputs to our servers to do the math. Some features save inputs or results locally on your device. This is separate from technical visit information processed by advertising, analytics, or hosting services.
How can I reject or change optional cookies?+
Where a consent message is presented, use its controls to reject or customize optional purposes. Reopen the Site’s cookie or privacy settings where provided to change your choices. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser. If consent controls are unavailable, contact us; browser settings do not replace required Site controls.
Will turning off personalized ads stop all cookies?+
No. Turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all advertising cookies or remove ads. Google explains that non-personalized ads can still use cookies for frequency capping and aggregated reporting. Those purposes still require consent where applicable law requires it. Use Site consent controls as well as provider advertising settings.
Does closing my browser delete saved calculator results?+
Not necessarily. Local storage can retain preferences, calculator inputs, and saved results between visits. To remove this information, use your browser’s site-data controls or an available deletion feature. Clearing only cookies may leave local storage or offline caches untouched, so review the full site-data options before deleting.
Is continuing to browse treated as cookie consent?+
No. Where consent is required, it must involve an informed, affirmative choice. Visiting the Site, scrolling down a page, or continuing to browse does not by itself provide consent for non-essential cookies. A revised policy also does not automatically authorize new consent-based tracking purposes.
How can I contact Calcavio about cookies or privacy?+
Use our Contact page. Include the page, browser, device, and a short description of your concern where relevant. Do not send passwords, account numbers, or unnecessary financial details. Our Privacy Policy explains the broader privacy rights that may apply.
